Wadim van Akkeren proves that aesthetics and technology go hand in hand

Koodin is an innovative tech company. We help our clients with the (further) development of applications, websites, and motions, among other things. Wadim van Akkeren is our senior designer. He proves that aesthetics and technology go hand in hand. In fact, according to Wadim, it's about more than just aesthetics. “It's also about understanding systems, leadership, and the ability to work with software.”

We don't just deliver what is requested, but actively think along with how we can make it scalable and sustainable for the long term. “Clients are not only helped with what they ask for, but also with what they actually need. Sometimes even before they realize it themselves."

So we add value from the very first moment. It's about understanding the impact and meaning of what we build. "Our goal is to develop a product that is flexible, even when something fundamental changes, and lasts for years.” Wadim compares it to a car. “If a car doesn't pass the MOT test, the whole car is rejected, while individual parts are probably still in good working order. A waste, and unnecessary. That's why we build a design system consisting of separate components without too many interdependencies. If a part is broken or needs to be replaced, it's just a matter of adjusting it, and moving on.”

Clients we work for have confidence in our professionalism. “They know that we know what we are talking about,” Wadim states. “Traditionally, we are told what to do, but then you literally get what you ask for. So it's up to us to ask questions: ‘Does it make sense?’ or ‘Can it be done differently?’ and then back that up.” That's where the trust lies for us. We are experts who know what they are doing and why.

Wadim believes quality is crucial, but also usability for others. “When I leave, I have the confidence that the people who remain can work with it and know how to expand it and make it bigger.” That is Koodin. Here to stay.
